Indochinese Communist Party is Founded
The founding of the Indochinese Communist Party is helped by Ho Chi Minh. This is the party of people that were fighting the U.S. in the Vietnam War. (No specific day of the month given)

U.S. Aids France with $15 mil.
The U.S. pledged to support Franch with $15 million worth of military aid. This was to go toward the war in Vietnam.

NVA attacks U.S. ships
On August 2 of 1964, the North Vietnamese attacked two U.S. ships in the Gulf of Tonkin. The attacks continued until August 4th.

Tonkin Gulf Resolution
On this date, the Tonkin Gulf Resolution was passed by U.S. Congress. This gave the power of being able to do whatever he felt necessary to President Johnson.

Operation Rolling Thunder
On March 2, 1965, the U.S. and the Republic of Vietnam teamed up and launched gradually increasing attacks against North Vietnam in what was known as Operation Rolling Thunder.

U.S. Troops Go to Vietnam
On March 8, 1965, U.S. combat troops arrived in Vietnam. The amount of troops in Vietnam gradually increased starting at this point in time.

Tet Offensive
On this date, the newly united Viet Cong and the North Vietnamese began attacking South Vietnamese towns and cities in what was known as Tet Offensive. The amount of cities and towns that were attacked was around 100.

Ho Chi Minh Dies
On this date Ho Chi Minh died at age 79. This is significant because he was the communist revolutionary leader.

NVA Cross DMZ and Attack
Following their crossing of the demilitarized zone at the 17th parallel, the North Vietnamese attacked the South Vietnamese. This became known as the Easter Offensive.

On January 27, 1973, a cease-fire was signed. The cease-fire was provided by the Paris Peace Accord.
