The Mai Lai Massacre is is a well known act of violence against civilians. Mai Lai Massacre happened because the U.S started burning down houses. This got a lot of media coverage in the states and led to more troops in vietnam. -

In 1968 Operation Rolling Thunder began to come to a close. Rolling Thunder ended due to its failure to stop the viet cong. After thus they started to withdraw troops from vietnam.
