you see in the 1900s Tomas Edison didn't want Actors to be famous because he was greedy and wanted all the money for himself but producers in Californa had the exact opposite thought. they would have all the actors mentioned and the one that did really good would get famous and then the producer pay them more and put them in more movies and some people will watch the movie because that famous actor would be in that Movie -
