The Sega genesis had a video game character named Sonic. He had a game called Sonic The Hedgehog. These were the two best characters during the time. -

Video games started to become 3D. You were able to move in any type of direction. With the Nintendo 64 and Playstation 1 there were many different types of games that had 3D graphics. 3D games was now the new norm for gaming. -

This generation of consoles include PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, and Dreamcast. The PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube were the main consoles. There were a lot of good games that came out of this generation as well Especially for PS2 and Gamecube. -
7th Generation Of Consoles
This generation of consoles include the Xbox 360, PS3, and the Nintendo Wii. Online gaming was upgraded and there was better communication between players in games. The Wii came out with a controller that captured motion and you can use the controller in different ways. -
Generation 8th of Gaming
This is when the PS4, XBOX One, and Wii U came out. The consoles offered better graphics and new games. There was better hardware and Online play was better than ever. There were a lot of subscription services as well.
