Wind-farm veto given to land-owners
Land-owners within a two-kilometre radius of a proposed wind turbine will be a given a power of veto as to whether the the turbine can be built. According to Environment Victoria this power is not granted to land-owners in relation to other power stations and that it will severely harm the wind-power industry in the state. -
Government funding for solar power halved
The Feed-in tariff that subsidised households wanting to install solar panels is halved. Environment Victoria states it could lead to job losses of 1000 in the Victorian solar industry, but the Government states that lowering costs of solar power reduces the need for Government incentives.
