Invented by Eli Whitney. This revived Southern slavery. This invention, once the cotton is put into the gin, removes the seeds from the crop. -

The address was given because he was leaving office, and also warned against foreign alliances, debt, and major military establishment. -

Preident Thomas Jefferson ordered Lewis and Clark to explore the land northwest of what had already been settled. -

Created by Robert Fulton and made the first practical trip on a Steamboat for 150 miles. -
War of 1812
The three main causes for it were that (1.) Britain seized U.S ships in the process of trading with France, (2.) Britain convinced many Native Americans to rebell, and (3.) Britain also captured 4,000 U.S, sailors. -
"The Star-Spangled Banner"
Written by Francis Scott Key. He was inspired to write the words to the song after the British bombardment of Baltimore for a total of 25 hours, and failed. -

Confederate states are the states that succeeded because thay thought of President Lincoln as a threat to their way of slavery. Jefferson Davis was elected as Prsident of the Confederacy. -

The Civil War began because of the shots fired upon this fort were from the confederacy. -

This was the bloodiest battle of the war, and it only lasted one day. -
Emancipation Proclamation
Issued by Loncoln and said that all slaves in the areas that are still in rebbellion are freed. -

Speech given by Lincoln after the Union won the Battle of Gettysburg. -
General Lee Surrenders
General Robert E. Lee surrenders to General Grant at Appomattox Court House in Virginia. -
President Lincoln's Assasination
Killed by John Wilkes Booth in Ford's Theater, DC.Lincoln died the next morning. -

Said anyone can be a citzen if born in the U.S. -

Said that any race could vote. -
