This was the first expedition in america to cross the western part of the U.S, they set off in May 1804, near St. Louis going westward toward the Pacific coast. -

President James monroe sighns the compromise also known as the compromise bill of 1820
This bill attimted to make people the number of slaves holding states in free states in the country. -
General Grant
On April 13,1861 in Charleston Harbor, South Carolina. The confederate troops attacked Fort Sumter. This is when Ulysses Grant sparked his patrisom and offered is millitary services. -
Robert E Lee
Robert lead the confederate during the US civil war and has been and veteran as a figure in the south.
Lee invaded the North, only to be defeated at the Battle of Gettysburg. -
Andaconda Plan
It consisted of a large scale block 80 in the south combined with a tax along the mississippi river.
This plan had a big impact on how they fight the war. -
Sherman's March to the Sea
The purpose of the march to the sea was to frighten Georgia’s civilian population into abandoning the confederates , which Sherman’s soldiers did not destroy any of the towns in their path, but they did steal food and livestock and burned the houses and barns of people who tried to fight back. -
Abraham Lincoln assassination
He got assassinated by John Wilkes Booth in a movie theater.
Licoln was the first american president to be shot and Booth was the first to kill an American president
Licoln was buried on May 4, 1865 at Oak Ridge Cemetary close to Springfield
