AKA The Second War for independence. US defeated the British. Andrew Jackson emerged as a war hero by saving the city of New Orleans. -
The Trail of Tears
White settlers in Georgia wanted Cherokee lands. President Jackson sided with the whites and ordered the removal of the Cherokee to Oklaham. Many died. -
The Mexican War
A sequel to the Texas Revolution, this war featured a 4 month conflict over Mexio's northern territory. The US got 1/4th ots total current territory. -
The Civil War Begins
When Abraham Lincoln won the election of 1860, South Carolina led many other sonthern states in seceeding for the Union. Lincoln Declared war to bring them back.
