White settlers in Georgia wanted Cherokee lands. President Jackson sided with the whites & ordered the removal of the Cherokee to Oklahoma. Many Died. -

A sequal to the Texas Recolution, this war featured a 4 month conflict over mexico's northern territory. The U.S. got 1/4th its total current territory. -

When Abraham Lincoln won the election of 1860, South Carolina led many other southern states in seceeding from the Union. Lincoln declared war to bring them back.
