    Great Britain and France were fighting against each other for control of North America.
  • Boston Tea Party

    It was a political protest where the Sons of Liberty threw 342 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor.
  • The Battle of Lexington and Concord

    These battles sparked off the beginning of the American Revolutionary War.
  • The Declaration of Independence

    A pronouncement of America to be independent of the America to independent of the British Crown.
  • The Battle of Yorktown

    This battle was a victory for America against British troops.
  • Constitutional Convention

    An event that was held to figure out how Americas government system was going to work.

    A machine that easily separates cotton into fibers

    Acts that applied to immigrants making it difficult for them to get into America.
  • The Louisiana Purchase

    Where the US bought Louisiana from France.

    Humphry Davy created electric light in 1802.
  • War of 1812

    A fight between the United States and Great Britain.
  • Missouri Compromise

    It was a compromise between the northern and southern states. They agreed that the northern states could have Missouri if the south could keep slavery legal.
  • Andrew Jackson Election

    Andrew Jackson and his opponent, John Adams were mortal enemies. The election included serious accusations directed at the two men.
  • Trail of Tears

    The trail of tears was when about 600,000 Native Americans were forced to be removed from their homeland.

    When Abraham Lincoln announced that all slaves should be freed.

    The 13th amendment dealt with the abolishment of slavery.

    At Appomattox Court House, Robert Lee surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant.
  • Abraham Lincoln Assassination

    Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes booth while attending a play.

    He was impeached for "high crimes and misdemeanors"

    An amendment that basically states that all American citizens should be treated equally.

    He became the 26th president after being the governor and vice president.
