They also have toddlers without diapers soiling themselves. The Trump administration must live up to its pledge not to separate migrant children from their families and to treat them with the respect they deserve. Stop repeating history.

Which could be a final blow to finally stop Trump's long fought effort to end the protections.The program was created by President Barack Obama in 2012. Over the years, it has protected more than 800,000 people, who met a series of strict requirements for eligibility.

    Biden signed a proclamation that paused construction/funding on the border wall between Mexico and US, as he believed building the wall was not an emergency. While Trump originally started building this wall because he believed this was a national issue, Biden believed that the money was taking away from militaries, schools, and caused risks to the environment. In addition, he wanted to use the money for genuine security challenges, like human trafficking and drug smuggling.

    Hours after being sworn in, Joe Biden reversed several immigration policies. Joe Biden had a slate of immigration actions planned for his first day in office. The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which permits immigrants who were brought to the US as minors without proper documentation to temporarily obtain work visas and be shielded from deportation, is supported by the government, according to a presidential memo written by Biden.

    Biden ended the Migrant Protection Protocols that Trump previously implemented in 2019. The ending of this act allowed migrants to travel. Instead of being held in detention facilities, migrants are monitored through other techniques like ankle bracelets. Those who were in the program have since been released, although not all were able to enter the US.

    The Title 42 policy expired and immigrants will now face more severe consequences for trying to cross the border illegally. The US government is to revert back to the old Title 8 policy which requires migrants to apply for asylum to gain entry into the US. Every migrant looking to get asylum must wait out the process even if it can take a long time.
