The story has been a play, novel and movie. Frank L. Baum dedicated this film to his wife. when this was first put into story 35,000 were copied and 21,000 were sold. -
The assassination of President Mckinley
William Mckinley was shot on September 6th, 1901. He was shot inside the temple of music on the grounds of the Pan American Exposotion in Buffalo, New York. After Mckinleys assassination VicePresident Theodore Roosevelt became the 6th President of the United States of America. -

Howrad was elected President March 4th, 1909. Taft was the only man to serve chief or justice, and President. -

The standard oil could have been worth alot of money back then. But they thought if they envyed the trust then it would ruin the competion of the enterprise. -
Triangle Shirtwaist Company Fire
The fire caused 146 deaths, mostly women ages 16-33. Managers locked doors to stairwells and exits. The women had to escape from the escelator before it broke down. -

The ship was torpedoed by a German U-Boat near Ireland. It sank in 18 minutes killing more than 1,195 lives. The death of 123 Americans helped to stimulate anti-German sentiment in the USA -
United States enters WWI
The United States joined Britain, France, and Russia. More than 2 million soilders fought in France. Americans weren't for this and they wanted to stay neutral. -
World War I ends with the Treaty of Versailles
The treaty was signed at Versailles palace near Paris. Germany was not pacified or consiliated which was a factor leading to WWII. -
18th Amendment (Prohibition)
This amendment prohibited alcoholic bevrages in the U.S. except for religious and medical purposes. It was repealed in 1933. -
19th Amendment (Women's Suffrage)
Prohibits any U.S. citizen to be denied the right to vote based on sex. Susan B. Anothony and Elizabeht Cady Stanton drafted the amendment and introduced it in 1878. In 1920, congress finally submitted it to the states to be radified.
