Compromise
The compromise of 1850 was established to stop the Slavery in the united states after the Mexican American war. This law was established to stop the slave trade but no tslavery. -
The "Anti Coolie" act
This act discorages Chinese immigration too california and make people who hire any Chinese are charges with special taxes. -
The Nutralization Act
This act in 1870 expanded the citizenship to both whites nad african americans but asians were still excluded. -
The fifteen Amendment
The fifteen Amendment was rafted and granted voting rights to citizens, regarless of there race or color. -
The Immigration Act
The immigration act of 1882 highered the taxes 50 percent to all the immigrates and the people ineligible for citizenship. -
Chinese Exculsion Act
The Chinese Exclusion Act was the first stict imigration law directly against Asian Countries. This Law prohibited mostly chinese citizens. This act didnt end until 1907 when the United States and Japan came to an agreement. -
The Alien Contract Labor Law
This law prohibits any company or individual from bringing foreigners into the United States uncer contract to perform labor. -
The Geary Act
This act extended the Chinese Exclusion Act for more then 10 more years and added requirements that all Chinese residents carry permits and identifications where ever they went. -
Gentlemen's Agreement
This was an agreement betweent he united states and Japan to not resitrict Japanese imigration in exchange for Japan's promise to voluntary restrict Japanese emigration to the United States by not issuing passports to Japanese laborers. -
Quota Act
The Quota Act of 1921 laid a framework for a fundemental change in U.S.imigration policy. It limited the number of immigrants from Europe to a total of about 350,00 per year. They established this act to establish a direct porpotion to each county's presence in the U.S. population in 1910 -
Bracero Program
This was a program that required people to come to the United States mainly to do Manual labor. This was an agreement between the United States and Mexico, for the importation of temporary contract laborers from Mexico to the United States. -
Immigration and Nactionality Act
This Law was designed to treat all contries equally. This Law kept the overall quota on total immigration for eastern Hemisphere contries, originally sat at 170,00 and no more than 20,000 indivifduals were allowed to imigrate to the United States from any single country.The important pereference were given to realatives of U.S. citizens and permanent resident aliens. -
SB 1070
This law was targeted to all the Hispanic Immigrantes in Arizona. This law allowed any cop to ask anyone they suspected to be an illegal for there documentation during a traffic stop.
