The Great Awakening
The Awakening was a chain of preachers trying to spread religin in the colonies. They held sermons in front of the colonists to give them hope and make them question the british authority. The colonists all over the eastern colonies were coming to the sermons just to hear the preacher talk. -
Fench Indian War
It was a war between french and british over indian territory. the french defeated the british many times, but in the end the british won. And then the indians rebelled against the british, attacking british soldiers, colonists, and trade wagons. -
Proclamation of 1763
Prevented the british from moving further into Indian territory. It was because the indians attacked the british, and they didnt want any more losses. Townshend Acts
It made colonists rebel and question the british authority even more. It was caused because the british still needed more money, so they made taxes on glass, porcelain, led ETC. It led to colonists not buying british goods. -
Boston Massacre
This event took place in boston, british soldiers shot and killed colonists who were shouting at them. This completely changed the colonists' opinion on the british. In court, the parliament made the british non-guilty -
Tea Act
It gave a british monopoly on sea trade. They needed to make money quicker, and colonists always bought tea. Made it so only british companies could sell tea. It made colonists rebellious and they tried to smuggle tea to sell their own. -
Boston Tea Party
It showed that the colonists DO have power over british. One night, british tea ships were docked in Boston. Some colonists dressed as Indians dumped tea off the side of the ships because they did not want to buy it. -
Intolerable Acts
It played a major part in the colonists' war against the british. It was caused because the boston tea party enraged british. The parliament shut down boston harbor and committed other crimes against colonists. The act was eventually repealed in 1778. -
Battle Of Lexington
The battle was the beginning of the war the british started. The british were marching to concord to destroy colonists' weapons stashes. The colonists formed a small group of militia and the british attacked them, killing 10 and wounding 8. Nobody knows who fired the first shot. -
Battle Of Bunker Hill
The british attacked concord, setting fire to buildings and attacking colonists. The colonies were outraged by this and started a series of wars between british and colonies over independence, laws, and boundaries. -

It encouraged colonists to rebel against british. It was written because Thoms Paine was upset about british authority. He wrote a book called "Common Sense". It caused the colonists to experience hope against fighting the british. -

It was a document that created the United States of America. It formed the laws and system that our government is based on today. It also created independence for the colonies from britian. -

At this battle, the colonists were successful. They killed many british and won the battlefield. General Burgoyne was furious when he lost because he was trying to conquer the colonists. -
Battle Of Yorktown
The battle of Yorktown was when the colonists finally defeated Britian and were free from its tyranny. When the british surrendered at yorktown, it caused the colonists to create the "Paris Treaty" -

Document that created boundaries for the U.S. It was made following the surrender at Yorktown. It established british recognition of the United States. It caused the british to fromally surrender from war.
