    The declaration of independence was a big remark in history. The document stated the reasons the 13 American colonies wanted to be free of Great Britain's government. The Declaration of Independence states that the authority to govern belongs to the people, rather than to kings, that all people are created equal and have rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

    Following a 13-day siege, Mexican troops under President General Antonio López de Santa Anna launched an assault on the Alamo Mission near San Antonio de Béxar, killing all of the Texian defenders.
  • Donner Party

    Donner Party
    n the spring of 1846, a group of nearly 90 emigrants left Springfield, Illinois, and headed west. The group attempted to take a new and supposedly shorter route to California. They soon encountered rough terrain and numerous delays, and they eventually became trapped by heavy snowfall high in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Purportedly reduced to cannibalism to survive through the winter, only half of the original group reached California the following year.

    When gold was found by James W. Marshall at Sutter's Mill in Coloma, California, the news of gold brought mostly by sailing ships and covered wagons some 300,000 gold-seekers to California.

    On April 12, 1861, General P.G.T. Beauregard, in command of the Confederate forces around Charleston Harbor, opened fire on the Union garrison holding Fort Sumter. At 2:30pm on April 13 Major Robert Anderson, garrison commander, surrendered the fort and was evacuated the next day.

    The Supreme Court issued an unanimous ruling on Brown v. Board of Education. Segregation in schools and other public facilities was illegal. In the entire south, only three school districs began desegregating in 1954. It allowed nine oustanding black students to attened central high school. The coart case was a big out break for black people in the South.

    On 17 April 1955, Albert Einstein experienced internal bleeding caused by the rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm, which had previously been reinforced surgically by Rudolph Nissen in 1948. He took the draft of a speech he was preparing for a television appearance commemorating the State of Israel's seventh anniversary with him to the hospital, but he did not live long enough to complete it.

  • Elvis Presleys death

    On August 16th 1977, he returned to Graceland after a late appointment with the dentist. He went to his bedroom around 7:00 pm to rest before an evening flight. He was later found in his bathroom and rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead from cardiac arrhythmia. What caused his heart to stop was an overdose of prescription drugs.

    September 11th 2001 was a very tragic day. Nearly 3,000 people died, 400 were police officers and fire fighters. The rescue and recovery clean-up of the 1.8 million tons of wreckage from the WTC site took 9 months.

Matches were played in six cities across Canada in five time zones. The tournament began on 6 June 2015, and finished with the finals on 5 July 2015 with a United States victory over Japan.
