  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    The declaration of independence was created by Thomas Jefferson. It was created to claim our independence from Britain. On July 4, 1776 the second continental congress adopted the declaration that built the Unites States. That’s why and how that declaration was created.
  • Louisiana Purchase

    Louisiana Purchase
    The Louisiana Purchase happened in 1803 it is when we bought the Louisiana territory from France. Thomas Jefferson was thrilled about the offer the french gave him but the Constittution said no president can buy land. On April 30, 1803 the Louisiana Purchase was approved for 15 million dollars. Many Americans were not hapy about money being spent like this but Jefferson didn't care. But the benefit was the United States doubled in size and we gained complete control of the Mississippi river.
  • The Lewis and Clark Journey West

    The Lewis and Clark Journey West
    The Lewis and Clark Journey West was an exploration led by Merriweather Lewis and Wiliiam Clark with the help of Sacagawea. This journey had many impacts on the United States, Lewis discovered over 200 new plant and animal spieces. Also Clark made a new map of the territory. They also discovered many dangers that they were able to warn people about.
  • The Trail of Tears

    The Trail of Tears
    The Trail of Tears is when president Andrew Jackson moved all the the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, and Creek Indians west of the Mississippi. What Jackson did was unfair to the Inidians and he did it without asking the congress. Many Indians didn't make it through the journey. The Trail of Tears or the Indian Removal Act lasted a year and was very deadly. (McDougal Littell).
  • Bleeding Kansas

    Bleeding Kansas was when antislavery settlers rejected the elcected governemnt.
  • Harper's Ferry

    Harper's Ferry
    Harper's Ferry was a plan to capture the weeapons in the U.S. aresenal at Haper's Ferry, Virginia. On October 16, 1859, Brown and 18 men, 13 white and 5 black went and captured the arsenal. The word got out that they were attacking and U.S. marines captured Brown and six others. Ten men were killed.
  • The battle of Fort Sumter

    The battle of Fort Sumter
    The battle of Fort Sumter was the first battle of the civil war. In 1861, the spark occurred at Fort Sumter, the fort was then attacked by federate troops. After an exchange of artillery fire Anderson and 86 soldiers surrendered the fort on April 13. The battle of Fort Sumter then began the civil war.
  • First ever Penn State football game

    First ever Penn State football game
    Penn State’s first ever gam occurred on November 12, 1881. They went to Lewisburg, PA to play Bucknell. Penn State won 9-0. Bucknell denies that the game ever happened even though the game was in the State College Newspaper. For that game the Nittany lion was not the mascot for Penn State it was “Old Coaly,” a mule.
  • Volleyball was invented

    Volleyball was invented
    In 1895 William G. Morgon created volleyball. He created only four years after basketball was invented. He originally called it “mintonette,” When he designed the game he designed it to be a combination of basketball, baseball, tennis, and handball.
  • The Supreme Case: Brown v The Board of Education

    The Supreme Case: Brown v The Board of Education
    In the Brown v. Board of Education case Linda Brown was an African American girl who lived beside a school for white kids and she had to walk across town just to go to an African American school. On May, 17, 1954 the supreme court issued that segregation in schools and other public places was now illegal. The next year the court ordered public schools to mix whites with African Americans this rule was difficult to enforce.
  • Death of Elvis

    Death of Elvis
    Elvis Presley’s death was because he overdosed on drugs. He was found after a long flight in his bathroom dead on August 16th 1977. They believe that he overdosed on a cocktail of prescription drugs. At the age of 42 Elvis Presley was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead from cardiac arrhythmia. They believe he took a cocktail of several prescription drugs.
  • 911

    911
    During 911 terrorists attacked the World Trade Center and the Pentagon causing 2,500 deaths. In order to do so they had to steal four major airlines to use as weapons. Their leader named Osama bin Laden was the cause of the whole thing. This is an important part in our history because it destroyed two of the most monumental buildings in the world and because it killed many people. That is why 911 is important and what happened during it.

  • Garden spot went undefeated

    Garden spot went undefeated
    During the months of September and October in 2012 Garden Spot football team went undefeated. Mitch Martin was the 10th grade quarterback. They made it to the playoffs that year but unfortunately they had to play Manheim Central and they lost by a lot.
  • My dog has puppies

    My dog has puppies
    On 9/4/15 my dog Shay had puppies. On that day Shay had 5 puppies and they were all healthy. She had one male named Spencer, and four females that are not named yet.
