The Boston Massacre was when Redcoats came to Boston by orders and the colonists started to protest. The colonists threw things including snowball and glass bottles. The Redcoats fired shots and killed 5 people in the protest. -

President Thomas Jefferson hired Merriweather Lewis and William Clark to travel west and plot the geography while going up the Mississippi River. Lewis charted all the undiscovered plants and animals, while Clark plotted the land. On the way to the Pacific, they met a Native American girl named Sacagawea, She was the biggest to them out of anyone. She told them what plants were and weren't edible. the Louisiana Purchase happened in 1803 by President Thomas Jefferson. If nearly doubled the size of our country and gave us complete control of the Mississippi River. We gained about 800,000 acres of lands. The purchase was aprpoximately 3 cents per acre. Known as the best deal in history. -

The Calfornia Gold Rush is the reason why a lot people moved out west. They wanted to get rich from mining gold. Not a lot of people did get rich from this. The food was overpriced and expensive, so if anything, a majority of the people lost money instead of gaining it. It got really popular in 1849, that's why a California sports team is called the 49rs. -
The attack on Fort Sumter
Confederate troops attacked a federally controlled fort. Even though the gun fire was heavy, Lincoln didn't surrender the fort. The Civil war broke out because of the attack. Overall, it helped the slaves be set free if you think about it. -

In the early 50's, schools were segragated. Meaning blacks and whites were separated in public. Brown fought the board of education to change that/ Brown won the case, and schools were now allowed to integrate. -

On August 16, 1977, "The King," AKA Elvis Presley Died. His death was caused by a cardiac arrest. The heart attack hit him becuase he was very obese. He now can't make improvements upon the art of music or make hits. -

September 11, 2001
The terrorist group, Al-Qaeda, flew airplanes into the World Trait Center building. America thought they were engaged in war with the Middle East, but they weren't. The planes flew into the upper floor levels. When they collided, the plane exploded and set the buildings on fire. After about 30 minutes after the first attack the builing fell, and minutes after the fisrt fell, the second fell. Leaving a big pile of rubble left over from the attacks. -
