World War I, was started on July 28, 1914. The reason this war started was that Francis Ferdinand, whom was an Archduke of Austria, was assassinated by a citizen of Serbia on June 28, 1914. This action set the ball rolling on the chain of events that would lead to the outbreak of war, and involvement of various nations around the world. -
The start of the Flu (Influenza) Pandemic
The influenza (flu) pandemic of the late 1910s to the 1920s is a part of history that many people know about. The reason for this, is that it was such a dark time in history. By 1920, it is estimated that 50 million deaths happened from this virus worldwide. This virus was commonly referred to as the "Spanish flu." -
The End of World War I
World War I ended on November 11, 1918, this signifies that the war lasted a total of four years. An agreement was signed by Germany as well as the Allies on this date. Although this was the beginning of the end of World War I, the Treaty of Versailles was what officially ended World War 1. The Treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28, 1919, -
The 19th Amendment
The 19th amendment is a very important amendment that was implemented into the constitution. The reason this amendment is so important is that it granted American women the ability to vote. The amendment was passed by congress on June 4, 1919 and was formally implemented on August 19, 1920. -
The Great Depression
The Great Depression is one of the worst American economic crashes in history. It all began in 1929 with the United States stock market crash. This economic depression lasted ten years, until the year 1939. It affected humans worldwide, and the effects were massive. -

The official start to World War II, came after Nazi Germany invaded Poland. This heinous action caused Great Britain and France to declare war on Nazi Germany. It is so crazy to me that World War II happened less than 21 years after the end of World War I. -
The End of World War II
World War II is the deadliest war in all of human history, with an estimated 50 to 85 million causalities. It lasted a total of 6 long years. -
Civil Rights Act of 1964
The Civil Rights Act of 1964, is an extremely important aspect of history. This act was legally enacted by President Lyndon Johnson. The Civil Rights Act of 1964, prohibited discrimination of any kind in public areas. Furthermore, this law prohibited discrimination in employment, as well as making schools become integrated as well. This went into effect on July 2, 1964. -
The First Personal Computer
The first computer that could be used for personal use was released in 1981. The company that created this was IBM, and it sold for a whopping $1,565. This was the start of technology becoming more personal and eventually becoming very mainstream. -
World Wide Web for Everyone!
With the world wide web going public, this allowed for so many individuals to use the internet. Furthermore, this was a good indicator to see how it could change the way we live our lives.
