The date Hinduism was founded or discovered is still unknown to this day. It is believed to have been founded around 8000-6000 BCE but others think it was founded in 3000 BCE. Hinduism is the world's first known religion and it is very important because it created a great culture. Hinduism originated in the Indus River Valley. -
7000 BCE
Beginning of the Indus Valley Civilization
The Indus River Valley Civilization was formed around 7000 BCE. It included cities such as Harappa and Mohenjo Daro, and these cities had population of about 35,000 people. These cities were very peaceful and they had great innovations like plumbing, and mud houses which were good for the era. The civilization was very advanced for its time and it was located near northwest India. -

Sumerians
Sumerians were people from southern Mesopotamia who were responsible for many creations and innovations. They are known for creating time by dividing the day and the night into 12 hours each. They also created the fist schools and ways to get education. Their irrigation and architecture was very impressive for its time and some of the practices they did way back then are still done today. Sumerians are very important in history because of their inventions and innovations. -

Aryans Migrate to the Indus Valley
Aryans migrated to the Indus Valley Civilization in northwest India because of religious persecution in the countries that they came from. It is speculated that they travelled in trader ships owned by Indian sailors and traders to get the Indus River Valley, or by walking or horseback from their home countries. They migrated to use new opportunities for trading and farming and to have a better life overall. -

Old Kingdom
The Old Kingdom of Egypt was around for about 500 years in the country of Egypt. This time was known as the age of the pyramids because it was when the construction of it was started. This era was a time of progress in Egypt and establishing a new kingdom. This era also included a strong government. But this era is mostly known for the construction of the pyramids that would be tombs for leaders. -

The Great Pyramids
The Great Pyramids are located in Giza, Egypt They were built in the era of the Old Kingdom, and their purpose is to honor the pharaoh and act as a tomb for them. There are several pyramids but the biggest one is called the Great Pyramid of Giza. The Pyramids are guarded by a sphinx which has the head of a human and the body of a lion, and it symbolizes royalty status. These pyramids are a very important part of Egyptian history. -

The Akkadians were from ancient Babylonia, they were the first multinational empire in the world. They are also known for being the first major empire in the world. Akkad was the capital city named after the seat, or the leader of the Akkadians. The Akkadians shaped the way people viewed the first forms of government and ruling, so they are a very important piece of history. -

Middle Kingdom
The Middle Kingdom of Egypt was around for over 100 years. This time is remembered for great works of literature, art, and architecture. This era is known for not being as powerful as the other kingdoms as it had more development. This era was mostly just for the development of art, and literature, but is still a major era for Egypt's development. -

Assyrians
The Assyrians were formed around the year 2025 BCE. The main city they lived in was called Assur named after the supreme God of Assyria. The Assyrians had to gain independence before they were able to become a civilization.They were located in the middle east. The Assyrians are also known for their invasions of Egypt and the kingdom of Judah. They are also known for moving around a lot. -

Babylonians
The Babylonians were from southern Mesopotamia, and they were mainly from the city of Babylon. They were known for making the first codified laws, and a wonder of the world. Babylon was eventually destroyed by Cyrus the Great, but the Babylonians were very important for making the first laws and a wonder of the world. -

Code of Hammurabi
The Code of Hammurabi was a set of laws and rules set for the Babylonians to follow. The codes are named after the first ruler of Babylonia and are very important to the Babylonian people. These codes are still important to this day because it proves how people way back then had laws and rules to follow just like we do today. -

Beginning of the Shang Dynasty
The Shang Dynasty is the earliest empire in Chinese history. They are known for many good things and advancements. They are known for advancements in math, artwork, and military. The military had improved armor for the soldiers and their horses. They were led by a man named Cheng Tang who overthrew an evil king before him. They were then led by a lot of different kings over 600 years. -

New Kingdom
The New Kingdom was an era in Egypt that lasted about 500 years. This era is when Egypt became a major empire. This time was known for monumental architecture in Egypt by creating more advanced buildings, monuments, and houses. They also created more sites to honor pharaohs and gods. This era is known as the peak of Egypt's power. -
1045 BCE
Beginning of the Zhou Dynasty
The Zhou Dynasty was formed in about 1045 BCE, and it lasted for about 800 years making it the longest lasting Chinese dynasty in history. The first king of the dynasty was King Wu after the new dynasty defeated the Shang dynasty but King Wu died shortly after the battle. The dynasty has had hundreds of kings, and the dynasty ended when the Qin dynasty defeated King Nan. This dynasty was very important in the advancement of China and is a huge part of history. -
612 BCE
Fall of Nineveh in Mesopotamia
In 612 BCE the city of Nineveh in Assyria was destroyed in a big battle. The groups that fought in the battle were Edomites, Lydians, and Chaldeans, and they fought against the soldiers/resistance of Nineveh. The resistance was able to fight off these attackers for three months before they were unable to stop them from invading the city. The city was eventually burned and destroyed. -

Beginning of Persian Dominance in Mesopotamia
After the fall of the Babylonians the Persians had themselves a whole new empire. They let the people they conquered continue to live their normal lives as long as they obeyed the Persians. At this time the Persians had led most of Mesopotamia and were looking like the most powerful empire in the world. The Persian empire was eventually conquered by the Greeks and they disappeared and lost all of the land they had. If not for greed they could still be powerful. -
530 BCE
Persia Takes Over the Indus Valley
Around 530 BCE Persia led by Cyrus the Great wanted to take over more empires, and wanted to have more land so they invaded the land and took over a large western portion of the Indus River Valley. This invasion was very successful as the Persians held the land for over two centuries. Cyrus the Great was eventually killed in battle and a new leader took over, and that went on for a long time before Persia stopped existing giving the land back. -
479 BCE
Defeat of the Persians by the Greeks in the Battle of Plataea
In 479 BCE the Persian army attempted to invade and take over Greece, and the Greece resistance was very extreme. This was known as the Battle of Platea. According to a Greek historian named Herodotus over 257,000 persians died in the battle, and only 159 Greek soldiers died in the battle. This battle had a stalemate for about eleven days, but the Greek army had won because they didn't fall for the Persians attack, and they had the high ground. -

Beginning of the Qin Dynasty
The Qin Dynasty led by QIn Shi Huang was the first unified state in China to have centralized power. It is known for being the first established power in China. The dynasty was only around for about 15 years, but it's idea of the central government is still around to this day. The leader was considered very severe and extreme, pretty much like a dictator. This could be a reason the empire wasn't around for very long. -
220 BCE
The Great Wall of China
The Great Wall of China started its construction around 220 BCE. It was built under the Qin Dynasty led by Qin Shi Huang. It was built to have more fortification for the country of China, and to have a longer border wall. It took a massive amount of soldiers and workers to build the wall. The wall is over 13,000 miles in length, and is a landmark still around to this day. It is a major landmark visited by millions every year. -
