Mansa Musa journeyed from Mali to Mecca along with thousands of servants, nobles, slaves, and a large caravan of camels. This trip took several months and helped spread Islam to West Africa.

Great Zimbabwe was a city formed by the ancestors of the Shona people. The cities Kings grew wealthy by demanding tribute on ivory and gold trade. The city was abandoned for unknown reasons, most likely disease and overgrazing.

Ottomans capture Constantinople
The Ottoman sultan, Mehmet II launched a siege on Constantinople for two months. The Ottoman's cannons barraged the city until the city surrendered. It is now the city of Istanbul, one of Islam's capitals.

Timbuktu is conquered
Timbuktu was conquered by Sunni Ali. This signified that the Mali empire was completely over. The city was looted and burned. The city was in an important location for trade.

Japan Isolation
Japan returned to isolation due to the rapid spread of Christianity. Christianity was banned in Japan, most foreigners were expelled. Traders were only allowed in one port. This showed how Japan was geographically and politically isolated.
