America Declared Neutrality
Many US citizens saw no need to get involved in the war, they did not want to engage in the hardships created by war. Because of this, President Wilson declared that America will remain isolated and nuetral from the war. -
Big Bertha
The German Army introduced 2 large guns named "Big Berthas." These weapons were extremely deadly. They were first used against Belgian forts around Liège. -

A battle fought in Tannenberg, Prussia when resulted in a major defeat for Russia. It became a major event in Russian history and triggered much downfall for the country. -
The Second Battle of the Ypres Begins.
A new era of chemical warfare was introduced. The Germans lauched a clorine attack on allied forces. Thousands of deaths and casualties occured. -
The Lustiana
The ship, Lustiana was traveling to New York. Because America's ship were in the war zone, the Germans shot down and sunk the boat, 1,200 people perished. US demanded the Germanyut an end to attacks on unarmed passenger ships. -

The Battle of Verdun
The Battle of Verdun was started by the Germans to purposley drain France of its resources. With the tactic of total war, the Batte of Verdun was the longest, bloodiest battle in all of WW1. Despite the long, unreasonable fighting, the battle ended with no winner. -

The Somme
An attack was launched by the Brittish into the Somme River as an attempt to pull German troops away from Verdun. There was a great loss of troops on both sides of the war. In total over one million casualties occured. -

The Russian Revolution
Russia withdrew themselves from World War 1 officially. This triggered the start of the Bolshevik Revolution and officially disbanded the Eastern Front. This left WW1 with a one front war and placed emmence pressure on France in the West. -

Vladimir Lenin signed the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk with Germany which officially pulled Russia out of World War One. -

America offically entered World War One and US troops began fighting major combat operations on the Western Front. -
America Wins
The American Congress passed a Declaration of War and joined France on their battle against the German Empire. They won an allied victory over Germnay and Austria-Hungary. -
The Assasination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand
The Archduke of Austria-Hungary was killed by gunshot by Garvillo Princip. This event ultimately triggered Austria-Hungary to declare war against Serbia with allied German support -
The Zimmerman Telegram
The German asked Mexico to join them in their fight to take down the US with Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas as payment. Germany announced they would resume fire on unarmed ships. Knowing this would upset the US, they decided to fire first. Mexico turned down the German's offer and America found out. -
The Treaty of Versaille
The Treaty of Versailles was the treaty signed by all countries involved in the war. It officially declared the ending of WW1. In the treaty were negotiations and terms controlled by the aillies meant to target Germany. The US wanted to write the treaty as a form of peace and justice, however other counties wanted vengance. This triggered Italy and the US to leave the conference. The violent nature of the treaty is believed to be a major cause of the start of WW2.
