    In early removal they wanted the natives to assimilate to U.S culture and beliefs, the progressives ended up blending in and assimilating and the traditionalists did not agree but it ended up by the natives getting removed by force because assimilation wasn't the goal no more for the U.S.

    The trail of tears was when the U.S forcefully ended up making natives move from their homeland to other land that was known as "Indian territory which ended up being oklahoma, the natives suffered from lack of food, sickness, lack of clothing, harassed by whites ect.
  • The civil war

    The civil war was a war between the union and the confederacy which that affected natives because it separated most of Indian territory because of the disagreements of the confederacy and also resulted in other problematic things.
  • The reconstruction treaties

    These treaties were about how the natives and the U.S signed treaties addressing about some of the rights the african slaves had and what would happen to them.
  • The Daws act

    It was aimed to assimilate natives to the American culture, it also impacted most tribes land ownership and they lost control over their identity and their membership.
  • The oklahoma land rush

    The oklahoma land rush
    It was the the first run to land to unassigned lands of now Indian territory, many men and women were fast to claim lands but the ones that ended up claiming them were some native tribes.
  • The Indian reorganization

    The Indian reorganization
    It was mostly to reverse some of the harmful policies that were made in the past which also encouraged tribal self government and it restored some lands back to tribal ownership.
