    During late 8th century - early 7th century Homer wrote poems which greatly influenced Greek culture. He wrote the Iliad which was a story about Achilles. He then wrote a sequel to the Iliad called "The odyssey" which was about Odysseus' journey home from the war.

    The religion was founded sometime in 6th century BCE (600-501). It was the first monotheistic religion in the world. Also had similar beliefs to Christianity and Judaism.

    The Persian wars were a series of wars between Persia and Greece. It started because of Greeks starting revolts in Persian territory. The wars lasted from 499-479 BCE and the Greeks won.

    After the Persian war ended the golden age of Greece began. Its considered the golden age because many achievements were accomplished during the time. The City of Athens was the center of the golden age.
