Homestead Act
The U.S may had been growing but still had millions of acres of undiscovered land in the west and Midwest. Many native tribes had been pushed to this land and now they were in even more jeopardy with this new act. The homestead act allowed people to migrate west for a small fee and gain the property if they lived their for 5 years. -
National Labor Union Organized
The industrial revolution had finally begun to take it's toll on the American people. Poor conditions and over working had soon become very prominent issues within the working class. Thus the labor union was created to protect workers rights and lives. -
Transcontinental Railroad joined
Transportation was a gigantic industry within the United States at this period in time. This uniting allowed the US to be connected not just by a rail way but also with each other. North and South together once again. -
Immigration laws
As the U.S grew into a global power, many immigrants decided to leave their land for a better life in the land of opportunity. The U.S had decided they didn't want certain immigrants to enter their country. With this racists mindset they developed their first immigration laws. -
NAACP
After years of oppression and discrimination, people had finally decided to create an organization to protect ad fight for the rights of black people. The NAACP was put in place to help the black people of the U.S have a voice and be heard within the racists society. -
Indian citizenship
After many years of being oppressed and continuously pushed out of their land, Native Americans are finally granted citizenship. They are granted the same rights and can be a part of normal society, but sitll face discrimination.
