Captin Cook was a british sailer that explored the north and south of america.When spotted the Hawaiian islands his first stop was Wamia,Kauai.Soon thriving Captin Cook and the chief of Kauai created a great trading system.The English needed food and the islanders needed iron so they came to an agreement for trade. -
Guardianship of the Hawaiian War God
Kamehameha was the Guardian of the hawaiian war god's heiau.
Kamehameha went to a kahuna.The kahuna said to build one more heiau so then that way he could conquer hawaii.Kamehameha invited keoua the chief of the other side of the island to talk about peace.But as he came on shore a spear killed keoua. -
Kalani’opu’u’s Death
Kalani'opu'u's death was a great time for Kamehameha to strike during the sad moment.Before Kamehameha's strike Kalani'opu'u's family was in sorrow due to his death Kalani'opu'u's kids took his place through the sorrow until Kamehameha's strike.Kalani'opu'u had 5 childern and thier names were,Kīwalaʻō,Kalaipaihala,Pualinui,Keōua Kuahuʻula,Keōua Peʻeale.His wives were,Kalola Pupuka-om,Honokawailani,Kalaiwahineuli,Kamakolunuiokalani,Mulehu,Kānekapōlei,Kekupuohi. -
Kamehameha United the Hawaiian Islands
Before Kamehameha united the islands he was a great warrior so that gave him the upper hand on war tatics.When he became chief of a small part of big island he went into war with his cousin to take over the rest of the hawaiian islands.Between 4-6 Kamehameha united the hawaiian islands. -
Kamehameha attempts attack on kauai
After Kmaehameha coquered the island of ohau he choose attack kauai as soon as posible.When he attempted to attack he was caught in a storm and had to prospon the attack.As they waited out the storm King Kamehameha placed an agreement to King Kamualili.King Kamualili had exept the agreement and then Ni'hau gave uo to Kamehameha and this time King Kamehameha had finnaly united the islands. -
Battle of Nu’uanu
This battle was the last battle to conquer the hawaiian islands.This battle toke place in waikiki and then up to a cliff which about 800 people fell or jumped off the cliff.This battle was probabley the hardest battle of his life and wasb probably one of the greatest battles of hawaii.Because what Kamehameha had they had too.But through the delays they finslly got control over the hawaiian islands. -
Kaumuali’i makes agreement with Kamehameha
Before trying to attack kauai King Kamehameha placed an agreement to King Kamualili.King Kamualili had exept the agreement and then Ni'hau gave uo to Kamehameha and this time King Kamehameha had finnaly united the islands.Because of this Kamehameha had done somethig that no one else had down before unite the hawaiian islands.THen Kamehameha became the greatest chief in all of history. -
Sugar Cane Plantations
The sugar cane plantations were built on all the islands to produce more sugar to sell or trade to the europeons or the french or even the chinise.Those plantations where a big thing back in the 1800s everyone would ask to buy the hawaiian sugar. -
The Arrival of the Missionnares
The missionares were worried that if they came to a new world they would not be able to stay.When the missionares came to hawaii they were happy that the kapu was broken when they got there so their mission will be easier to convert the hawaiians to a new religion. -
The Missionares Stay in Hawaii
While the missionares waited for approval by Kamehameha II to stay in the islands the missionares started to talk to some hawaiians about christianity and new things.Once they got approvel from Kamehameha II they divided into groups and spreaded throught out the islands. -
The Ending Of Kapu
After Kamehameha died Ka'humanu had a plan to end kapu. The ending of kapu was a big deal for the hawaiians.Because some hawaiians thought this will anger the gods and will bring darkness to them because of Liholiho ate with Ka'ahumanu at a opening feast. When some hawaiians stopped beliving in the hawaiian gods they convrted to christianity.But for those who kept thier hawaiian beliefs they met in secret. -
Health of the Hawaiian Population
From the eurpeons their deiseaise started to spread through out the hawaiian islands. Some of the deiseaise killed 1/3 of the hawaiian population. Then the hawaiians learned and started to create alchohal. -
The Ending Of Kapu ( Part 2 )
But the good part that came out of the kapu system was that the women had just as much power as the men.And with the Kapu System broken they learned to live with the new events that thay had to deal with like whane the missonares come to hawaii and coverted more hawaiians to christianity. -
Liholiho Dies
Liholiho and Kamamalu dies in new endland due to the missels. And Liholiho's younger brother took over as the new chief when he was about ten years old of age and was renamed Kamehameha III. -
New Whaling Economy
When the eurpeons came to hawaii they started to kill hawaii's whales for their oil for lamps.When Ka'ahumanu first saw this happening her first task was to control the eurpoens and also the sailors brought deiseasies to hawaii. And whaling increased the sale of cows,salt,and etc. -
Ka'humanu Dies
Ka'humanu became ill and died at her home in Manoa Valley in Honolulu.When Ka'ahumanu died hawaii had very little leadership. When Kamehameha III became of age he made his wife/sister Ka'humanu II. King Kamehameha III he introduced old custums and introduced hula to hawaii. -
The Decline Of Whaling
Whaling in hawaii was very popular at a certin point.Whaling was the main market for their oil that the whales produce.The end of whaling happened in 1852 because then the eurpeons found oil in the ground and that was far more easier for the europeons instead of going out to sea. -
The Growth Of New Trading
Many people came to hawaii for the new trade and the population increased.Hawaii trading market increased with whale oil and sandelwood between the hawaiians and europeons.
