    Before the year 1853, Japan was a very isolated country that didn't allow foreign influence. Because of this modernization of Western countries that occurred during the Industrial Revolution was not a reality for them. During the Meiji Period Japan was more open the foreigners, through this Japan industrialized itself rapidly. By World War I Japan was established as a world power.

    Pro- Japanese reformers attempted to over throw the Korean Government , nevertheless they were stopped by Chinese troops. They attempted this aggression becasue Korea being Japans neighbor and their coal and iron resources.
