Japan acquires most of Germans Asian and Pacific Colonies
Between 1914 and 1918 Japan was able to acquire most of Germns Asian and Pacific colonies. This was because of WW1 and Japans alliance with Britain. -
Japan's List of Demands
During WW1 Japan sent over a list of demands to China in hopes it would bring economic and political power. However China denied the list but after a threat of takeover from Japan, China met the demands. -
Japans New Government
In 1928 Japans former government lost power due to militray influence and the government struggled to keep the radicals in line. This allowed for a new government to take over and lead Japan in a new direction. -
The Great Depression
The Great Depression hit Japan hard, it caused them to lose much of teir foreign trade. Many people blamed the governement for the economic crisis. -
Manchuria Invansion
Due to the impact of the Great Depression the secret societies gained power and Manchuria was invaded by them. Althoug people said the emperer had the power to stop hem many others believed only the military could have. -
Japan Invades China
After Japan invaded Manchuria they made plans to invade China that were successful a few years later, due to the fact that China had been weakened by the Great Depression. -

Japans Defeat
Between 939 and 1945 Japan was defeated in the second world war, and this resulted in complete removal of military influence in Japan. But Japan began to focus on indutrial growth and as a resultthe country became a mjor economic force. -
Japans expansion
The Great East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere was announced and was used to help the imperialist expansion throughout Asia. This also established a new international order that would align Asian countries with Japan.
