All were under control by the leadership of the Communist Party. This event was for more power and equality for all the workers. But in the end this socialist revolution in Russia led to products of historical laws.

    In 1922 Ukraine becomes a republic of Russia also know as the USSR. Ukraine was now controlled and dictated by Russia, and was now part of their nation. This event was very big on impacting Russia future and more importantly the future of Ukraine.

    Holodomor refers to the brutal artificial famine imposed by Stalin’s regime on the USSR. The Holodomor is known as the Ukraine genocide, the genocide was of kulaks, which were great farmers in their region. Also killing religious leaders and Ukraine political leaders. After so long the genocide ended, but killed more than 2 million innocent people. This event shows how powerful Russia was and what they could do with power.

    Ukraine didn't really play a big role in World War 2 but they were on the losing of the war obvious. Ukraine lost about 10 million people in the war which is crazy for a country that wasn’t that involved in the war. World War 2 affected Ukraine's economy and there people, but in the end Ukraine got over the last of the war and continued.

    In 1954, Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev gave Ukraine a gift, that gift being the Crimean Peninsula. At the time, it seemed like a routine move, but 60 years pass and the gift that Khrushchev gave to Ukraine had consequences. The gift was for the Holodomor which was created by Joseph Stalin, but he died in 1953. Thats when Khrushchev came to power and thought it was the right at the moment. This event is very important especially at this moment in time.

    Chernobyl is a nuclear explosion the occurred in Ukraine. Chernobyl was the biggest nuclear disaster that ever happened on this Earth. And even today it is too high in radiation to stay in for more than 4 hours without getting high levels of radiation. This event is very important to Ukraine and the world, bringing up more caution and safety procedures for nuclear power plants.

    Ukraine gained Independence from USSR
    Ukraine gained independence after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 and has since veered between seeking closer relations with Western Europe and to get away from Russia. But for Ukraine, Russia supplies most of their energy so they will either have to get energy somewhere else or keep good relations with Russia. But in the end all Ukraine wanted was Independence and thats what they got.

    US President Bill Clinton and Russian President Boris Yeltsin signed the Kremlin Accords, which stopped the preprogrammed aiming of nuclear missiles toward each country's target, also provided for the dismantling of the nuclear arsenal in Ukraine; Leonid Kuchma succeeded Leonid Kravchuk in presidential elections; Ukraine signed treaty with NATO. This was very important for Ukraine, and to create relations with the west.

    The Chernobyl nuclear power plant has officially launched the decommissioning and dismantling of its first three units. The move to fully shutdown the plant comes 29 years after it became site of the world’s worst nuclear disaster. In 2000 they offical shutdown Chernobyl and now no one can enter, unless, for government plans, and scientists.

    This year, Ukraine’s land, Crimea, was invaded by Russian troops on March 18. This caused many uproars in the East, possibly people saying the start of World War 3. But now everything is alright because they signed a cease fire agreement, creating peace between Russia and Ukraine. This is still going on to this day.
