Benito Mussolini initiated this to boost Italian national prestige. It was a failure since Ethiopia defeated the Italian forces at the Battle of Adowa. However, Italy won the war in the end! -

An agreement between Germany and Japan, and later Italy (Nov. 6, 1937) to direct against the Communist International! -
Munich Conference
A conference in which Great Britain and France decided to let Germany take over some areas of Czechoslovakia (Sudetenland). This is for 'appeasement' in an attempt to stop Hitler from making more demands. It failed tragically! -

An agreement between Germany and the Soviet Union in which neither of them shall take no military action against each other for the next 10 years. This shocked the world! This also led to the denunciation of the Anti-Comintern Pact from Japan! -
Germany invades Poland
Adolf Hitler conquered Poland on land and from the air. Extensive bombing destroyed the enemy's air capacity, railroads, communication lines, and munitions dumps. Overwhelming numbers of troops, tanks and artillery from Germany invaded. -
Blitzkrieg
This military tactic from the German was tried out against Poland. It is designed to create disorganization among enemy forces through the use of mobile forces and locally concentrated firepower. It is intended to bring a swift victory. -
Tripartite Pact
After the denunciation of the Anti-Comintern Pact, the new pact was formed in which Germany, Italy, and Japan will help one another through all political, economic, and military means! That means they will support each other if anyone of them gets attacked by their enemies like United States or the Soviet Union! -
Lend Lease Act
An act to have U.S military aid the foreign nations with the transfer of arms and any other defense materials. They give aid to any countries vital to them. They DO NOT send soldiers. -
Attack on Pearl Harbor
On Adolf Hitler's request, the Japanese bombers bombed Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. 2,000 Americans soldiers and sailors died! This sparked the U.S declaration of war on Japan!
