The main conflict of the Nullification crisis was South Carolina and the federal government got into a conflict. The state of South Carolina and The federal government was impacted by this crisis because it was the first time they almost got into a civil war. It increased tensions because it separated the North and South over slavery. -

In the Compromise of 1850, the main issue was a line separating the free and slave states. In the Compromise of 1850, this effected both the South and North because now they are more separated and it effected slaves because now the fugitive slave law was amended. The Compromise of 1850 created more tension and sectionalism because of the South being afraid of slavery being taken away and the North wanting slavery to end. -

The Fugitive slave act was a law that broke the 1st amendment, and allowed pro slaves take their slaves back if they ran away. In the fugitive slave act, the slaves were impacted by this law because now they aren't just worried about trying to run away. They are now worried about getting caught and being taken back to the South. The fugitive slave law increased sectionalism by the North disliking the idea, and the South liking the idea of bringing slaves back. -
Uncle Tom's Cabin
Uncle Tom's Cabin was published because of a woman. She had let a slave stay at her house and she had realized how difficult it was for slaves and she felt really bad. For Uncle Tom's Cabin, the South was heavily impacted by it because they didn't like how the book made people realize what slaves have to go through. Uncle Tom's cabin increased tensions because, now the South is panicking because they don't want to let go of slavery. -
Kansas-Nebraska act
In the Kansas-Nebraska act the main conflict was when this act allowed Kansas and Nebraska to choose if they wanted to be a slave state or a free state, this was called popular sovereignty. In the Kansas-Nebraska act basically the whole state was impacted by this act because Kansas and Nebraska got to choose either their a free or slave state. This increased tensions because it violated the Missouri compromise, and our whole country dividing. -
Bleeding Kansas and the Pottawatomie Massacre
In Bleeding Kansas the main conflict was in Kansas territory where it was abolitionist, specifically John Brown, starting a war against slavery. In bleeding Kansas the pro slaves were impacted by this issue because John Brown decided to kill pro slaves. Which also increased sectionalism between the free and slave states by John Brown's killing of the slave owners. -
Dred Scott decision
In Dred Scott's case, the main issue was Scott's supreme court case, taking a slave freedom if they're in a free state and their right to sue. African Americans were impacted by this issue because since Dred Scott's case, the supreme court decided to not allow slaves to sue and they were not counted as citizens of the United States. This case increased tension and sectionalism because this could really anger abolitionists and it could start a war. -

In John brown's raid, the main issue was John Brown trying to end slavery by starting a rebellion. Harpers Ferry was impacted by this event because John Brown went into the military base and stole their weapons. John Brown's raid and trial increased tensions between the pro slaves and abolitionists, because John Brown decided to start a rebellion against pro slavery. -
The election of Abraham Lincoln.
For the election of Abraham Lincoln, the main issue was how Lincoln emancipated the slaves and now the South is seceding. The southern was impacted by this Abraham Lincoln's choices because they did not like the idea of removing slavery. The election of Abraham Lincoln increased tensions because since he decided to emancipate slaves, the South wanted to leave, which can start war because of how unhappy the South was.
