This was to have immigrants be residents for 14 years and before becoming citizens.

This was the start of rules being made for immigrants for the US ports for Europe.

Slaves

Dred Scott made freed slaves non-citizens

Contract Labor Law

Mar 18, 1864

This allowed recruting of foreign labor.

Chineese Exclusion Act

Jul 23, 1882

This act kept out the chineese from the US for 10 years and kept the chineese that were already here from gaing the right to become a U.S citizen.
