Chinese Exclusion Act
First time the United States didnt let an ethnic group into the country. Because it would endanger the culture of local towns. It was a 10 year span. -
Labor Day
The very first labor day was held on a Tuesday. It was celebrated with a picnic, concert and, speeches. Grover Clevland made it an offical holiday in 1894. -
Hawaiian Annexation
I chose this picture because it has to do with the annexation of hawaii, and when if first became part of the United States. -

J.P. Morgan Battles Coal Minors
The minors were demanding more pay and shorter hours. Most imortant single incident in the labor movement. It showed the effectiveness of trade unions. -

It began on July 28, 1914 and ended on November 11, 1918. It took place in Europe and it drew in a lot of the world. -

This was the time of the movement of the African American expressions. It was centered in a Harlem neigborhood in New York. -

In the United States quest to expand they sent troops down to Nicaragua, Panama. (Couldnt find a date.) -

It was created at the end of WWI. It's mission was to maintain world peace after WWI. -
Stock Market Crash
This is also known as "Black Tuesday" . Although the stock market started falling September 4th. This is what caused everyone to lose faith in the Banks and with draws all their money from them. -

Attack on Pearl Harbor
Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. This is the main reason that the United States got involved with World War II. -
United Nations Created
One of the major outcomes of World War II was the creation of the United Nations. The United Nations was created for international peace and security throughout the world. -
Soviet Union Atomic Bomb
The Soviet Union exploded its first atomic bomb in August of 1949. This came to a great surprise of the United States of America. American's were now scared for their safety. -

Had to do with the social movements of America at the time, The goal of the civial rights act was to end slavery in the US for good. There was nonviolent acts of protesting going on. -
Montgomoery Bus Boycott
Lasted from December 1, 1955- december 20, 1956. This is the time oeriod in which Rosa Parks refused to get off the bus and wound up getting arrested. -
Labor Reform Act
The labor reform act was put in place to make sure that not only US citizens could get a job but the immigrants coming over could. -
JFK Goes to Europe
John F. Kennedy visits Europe to visit allies. This was one of the defining trips of his presidency. -

This lead to the four day bombing campagin called "Desert Fox". Since this time troops have been present in the middle east. -
