Zimmerman telegram
A telegram sent from Germany to Mexico asking for help during WW1 in exchange that when the war was over Germany would grant Mexico parts of the United States. It was intercepted by the British and the plan was stopped. -

A meeting that stopped the fighting between the allies and their enemies during WWI. It was signed in Le Francport France. -

Germany was allowed to extend its borders into other countries. This pact was made between Britain and Germany. -

Hitler invaded and took over control of Poland in a matter of days. He wanted to take over all of Europe. He invaded the soviet union signed the non aggression pact later with the leader. The allies declared war on Germany but neither began any moves to wage war yet. -
Pearl Harbor
Japan bombed the U.S Base in Hawaii and the U.S who said that they would stay out of the war decided that they would now enter since this was a direct attack on the United States. -

The allies invaded Normandy France and gained the first bit of land in Germany in a long time after an extended period of war. -

The allies dropped two bombs that wiped out a ton of life in Japan because Japan would not surrender. These two bombs also introduced the new deadly warfare to the world. -
Russians acquire the Atomic Bomb
This event raised tensions because now the Soviet Union had a bomb that could wipe out major life and one wrong move by anyone in the allies could trigger the bomb dropping. This happened during the Cold War. -
The Korean War
Began on June 25 1950 the United nations and U.S took part in the war by helping South Korea. North and South Korea were fighting each other over border and government control issues. -

In 1954 segregation case that allowed no more segregation of African Americans in United States schools. Helped the Civil Rights movement. -
Rosa Parks refuses to give up her seat
Was one of the first points of the civil rights movement in the United States. Rosa Parks did not give up her seat and went to jail this made bus riders go on strike and people did not write the bus, led to great progression and notice to the civil war movement. -
The Vietnam War
American troops were sent to Vietnam to help end the war there. This war was very long and cost a lot money and certain parts of this war were kept secret from the public. -
The Cuban Missile Crisis
Oct of 1962 when soviet testing of missiles in Cuba was reported the U.S feared that the soviet Union would use the missiles on the united states this caused mass panic and made the United states begin to negotiate with the Soviets for safety. -
JFK’s Assassination
Nov 22 1963 in Dallas Texas Kennedy thought he was going to win so he took a tour of certain states where he needed power but he was shot in Texas. -

This event gave President Johnson any power he needed to stop war and promote peace in South east Asia. -

When America won the space race against the Soviet Union and landed a man on the moon. -
The Watergate Break-ins
When two robbers were caught in the Watergate building it was found out that the robbers were working for Nixion the president at the time. Their crimes were immense and this caused most of the American population to lose faith in their leaders. -
Nixon’s Resignation
In the wake of the Watergate scandal Nixion instead of being out of office resigned instead. -
The Fall of the Berlin Wall
After the fall of the Soviet Union East and West Germany were made one again and the wall came down.
