The Louisiana Purchase was bought on the 30 of April in 1803. The French sold this land to Tomas Jefferson. The Louisiana Purchase was about 828,000 square miles and was sold for 15 million dollars and less than 3 cents per acre. -
Lewis and Clark expaditon start
This was the day the explores Lewis and Clark set out on their journey to find a North West passage to the pacific west. On their journey the encountered many Indians and one of the tribes gave them a girl by the name of Sacagawea. She had a baby along with her. Her baby was very vital to their exploration of the west. The baby was very healthy all the way though the journey. When hostile Indians saw that they had a woman and a baby in health the stood down and let them pass. -

The gold rush start when a man by the name of James W. Marshall found a gold nugget in a stream. This sparked the gold rush and many people started moving to the CA for gold. CA started to mold into a state. Most people need equipment so small towns were built with shops and solutes. These people made the most money. When people came to buy things they had to pay in gold with gold scales. -
