Railroad worker
Two years ago I was brought here to California to build the railroad. The railroad started in two places and met in the middle in Utah. It was known as the Pacific Railroad. It's 1,907 miles long. I heard this railroad will make it a lot faster to travel across the Unitied States. At first it took like 6 months and now with this railroad it will take 6 days. -
Transcontinental Railroad
The railroad started being bulit in 1863. They are bulding it to make it easier to get across the Unitied States faster. It was built by three railroad companies. It started in the east and in the west and met in the middle in Utah. It was known as the Pacific Railroad and then later known as the Overland Railroad. -
California
I life in California close to where we started building the railroad. There has been drastic changes lately in the area. Steel railroads running and being built right through crops. The tall colorful crops that were once here have died. -
Pacific Railroad Act
I think this act has good intentions be ause without this act we would not be able to build the railroad to get across the contient faster. The Pacific Railroad Act is an act that congress passed to begin construction on the railroad. Because they were about to start building through the crops.
