    On what is considered to be the birth date of modern medicine, Dr. John Collins Warren was the first to make it public of his use of anesthesia on patient Gilbert Abbot to remove a tumor from his jaw. The surgery, done in the Boston, Massechusettes general hospital, was a success.
  • Beginning Reconstruction.

    Note: date given is approximate. During the beginning years of The Reconstruction Era, many people came to par to come up with a plan to re-unite the Union and make America a whole again. Two of these plans, and probably the most famous of them are: the Hugs plan, and the Slugs plan. The Hugs plan, created by President Lincoln, was a plan to easily allow the South to re-unite with the Union. The Skugs plan, created by Thaddus, a radical Republican, is a harder, more punishment filled plan.

    in 1868 General Grant is made to be the Republicans Presidentail canidate for the elections. He faces Schuler Colfax, Horatic Seymour, and Francis Blair. Grant wins 214 to 80 having over 52% of the popular vote. Being 46, he was the youngest president of his time.
