    George Washington becomes President. George Washington states they will not be in war after the French Revolution begins.

    BILL OF RIGHTS IS RATIFIED
    Vermont entered the Union as the 14th state and the first bank of of the U.S became charted for a 20 year period. Washington sent U.S troops to Ohio to respond to the Massacre of settlers, and were defeated.
  • PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

    Washington was re-elected president. Addams was re-elected vice president.

    NORTHWEST TERRITORY
    Spain allowed the U.S to have navigation rights on the Mississippi River. After the Indian defeat at Fallen Timbers the northwest territory was opened up for settlement.

    John Marshal became the new Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. The Tripoli declared war on the U.S. later Jefferson sends ships to the Mediterranean sea.

    The ban of importation of slaves was passed by congress, as required by the constitution. After the British attacked the Chesapeake Jefferson ordered British warships to leave the U.S waters.

    The U.S sent troops in the battle of Horseshoe Bend (Alabama). Later the Creek War ended due to the defeat by the U.S troops.

    The Indians of the Creek war were defeated. The defeat caused Alabama and Mississippi Territories to open up to migration of American settlers.
