Washington was re-elected president. Addams was re-elected vice president. -
NORTHWEST TERRITORY
Spain allowed the U.S to have navigation rights on the Mississippi River. After the Indian defeat at Fallen Timbers the northwest territory was opened up for settlement. -
BARBARY WAR BEGINS
John Marshal became the new Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. The Tripoli declared war on the U.S. later Jefferson sends ships to the Mediterranean sea. -
PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
Thomas Jefferson is re-elected president. George Clinton elected Vice President. -
BARBARY WAR ENDS
The Barbary War ended after the U.S troops capture Darna. Lewis and Clark's expedition reached the pacific ocean. -
BAN ON SLAVE TRADE
The ban of importation of slaves was passed by congress, as required by the constitution. After the British attacked the Chesapeake Jefferson ordered British warships to leave the U.S waters. -

The U.S declares war on the British because of the issue they had between borders and trade.The war was supported by westerners and opposed by New Engenders. -

In 1814 the War of 1812 ended. The Treaty of Ghent was signed. -
CREEK WAR ENDS
The U.S sent troops in the battle of Horseshoe Bend (Alabama). Later the Creek War ended due to the defeat by the U.S troops. -
OLD SOUTHWEST
The Indians of the Creek war were defeated. The defeat caused Alabama and Mississippi Territories to open up to migration of American settlers. -

Attack on Florida and Georgia was the beginning of war. Mississippi entered the union as the 20th state. -
ANDREW JACKSON LEADS TROOPS TO FIGHT
Andrew Jackson lead troops to Florida to fight the Seminoles.
Later Illinois entered the Union as the 21st state. -

The Adams-Onis Treaty caused U.S to acquire Florida from Spain.

MISSOURI COMPROMISE
The compromise was passed and it released Missouri a slave state , it also banned slavery in Louisiana. Later Maine entered the Union as 23rd state under the compromise. -
