    The US went to war with Spain because of Cuba and in that war they gained these territories. T. Roosevelt helped in this. This caused the foreign policy to regulate even more.

    The water around the British Aisles was considered a war zone and Geramny said that any ship that would pass through it they would sink. This caused the US to get frustrated with Germany.

    British intelligence intercepts the zimmerman telegram which revealed Germany's plan to ask Mexico to attack America in Exchange for TX, NM, and AZ. This causes the U.S. to go to war
  • Selective Service Act

    The govt. now has the power to draft soldiers. The act required men between 21 and 30 to register for military services. Within a couple of months 10 million men registered to the military draft.
