The Ho Chi Manh Trail played an important part during the war. The Ho Chi Manh trail was used a lot during the Vietnam War mostly for the importance of sending over troops, supplies, and trucks safely to avoid being seen by U.S. Bomber plans. -
JFK assassination
The JFK assassination was a key detail for the Vietnam War because we had troops in Vietnam and we couldn't get them out. JFK had a plan to get them out to avoid the issue with Vietnam and not to get involved, but he later got assassinated which made Johnson the new president and he hated Communism so he wanted to send troops into Vietnam to deal with the spread of Communism. -
Gulf of Tonkin Incident.
this was an important day in the Vietnam War as this is what brought the U.S. in because of the random attack by Vietnam patrol boats. This also provoked the U.S. to bomb South Vietnam in return for the attack. -

Rolling Thunder was an important aspect of Vietnam as this was when the U.S. decided to have a mass bombing in North Vietnam. it was also meant to boost South Vietnam. -
First ground combat troops sent to Vietnam
This was an important date since this was when the first 3,500 U.S. troops arrived in Vietnam on foot. This was also a turning point when the U.S. needed a new plan and strategy to navigate South Vietnam. -
Battle of IA Drang
The Battle of I Drang was the first major battle between the U.S. soldiers and the people of Vietnam. -
Operation Crimp
Operation Crimp was also known as The Battle of the Ho Bo Woods. This was a Military Operation that took place 20 Miles North—the U.S. and its allies only cleared some of it, but it was a key Communist part during the Vietnam War. -
Operation Starlight
This was the first-ever ground assault against the Veit Cong there was also Air and Navy support against the Veit Cong. This was one of the first-ever assaults the U.S. had.
