    Led by Jackson, a coalition of small farmers, debtors, frontier pioneers, and slaveholders.

    After the civil war, the republicans dominated the political scene for 75 years. This was during reconstruction.
  • Roosevelt Democrats

    The great depression led people into the arms of the democrats once again, with Roosevelt at the helm. Many public views changed this year.

    Political power is generally split between the parties in the modern time, and media coverage has a lot to do with politics.

    Modern political powers are generally split between the main parties, and the public view is very divided.
