Radio Act of 1912
The Radio Act of 1912 was implemented in order to regulate the radio. It required all radio broadcasters to have a license. When this happened, the broadcasters who ended up receiving these licenses were big companies and the US military. The reason the military had radio was in order to have constant communication in case of an emergency. -
First Political Radio Broadcast (1920)
The election of 1920 was broadcasted by KDKA. According to the Federal Communications Commission, the results of the election between Harding and Cox were broadcasted by Leo Rosenberg. This was monumental for society because it was instant communication rather than having to read the results in the newspaper days later.

In-Car Radios Introduced
Galvin Manufacturing Corporation introduced society to the first in-car radio. Although most households already had radios, introducing it to cars made it even more accessible and relevant to society. People were able to get instant information without being restricted to their home. -
Television Commercials
For a long time, there was a ban on TV advertising. In 1941, the ban was lifted and commercials were allowed back on screen. This was a positive change because it was helpful to the economy. Businesses were able to advertise what they wanted such as cigarettes which would never be allowed today. -
In Pocket Radio
As the years go on, the importance of development is essential in society. In Pocket radios made it even more convenient for society to stay up to date with information. The pocket radio was operated by batteries which made it easy and cordless. The development of the radio was not necessarily fast, but it changed the way that society received communication.
