In it's second season of exsistence, the Northern Huskies beat the Port Huron High team, This becomes a theme for years to come. -

Northern wins its first ever playoff game by beating Troy 13-7. Northern finishes the 1986 season 10-1 allowing only 26 points during the regular season. -
