    Hitler had hoped to regain lost territory and rule over Poland, and because of this, it started World War Two. Adolph Hitler, and Joseph Stalin, the Soviet Union's leader the, signed a paper, it was called the, "Ribbentrop-Molotov Nonaggression Pact". They secretly planned to split Poland between them. Soon Great Britain would attack.

So, French Premier, Paul Reynaud telegrammed, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and asked for aid. Roosevelt said, equipment would be sent overseas.

    The Lend-Lease Act was approved by Congress, on March 11, 1941. It allowed President Franklin Roosevelt virtually unlimited access to direct material aid such as ammumition, tanks, trucks, etc. in war effort for Europe without violating America's official position of neutrality. Sometime by 1945, the Lend-Lease Act had cost $49.1 billion dollars. By then over 40 nation had recieved aid in it's name.

    Japan Bombed Pearl Harbor, HI
    On December 7, 1941, Japan had bombed Pearl Harbor, HI. The barrage may have lasted only two hours, but it was very fatal. The Japanese destroyed nearly 20 American naval vessels, that was including eight humongous battleships, and more than 300 airplanes. More than 2,400 American soldier's and sailor's lives were lost that day during the attack. Soon, F.D.R asked congress to declare war on Japan, which was approved.

    Germany may have declared war on the U.S, the bombing of Pearl Harbor surprised Germany, Hitler had made an oral agreement with Japan, that Germany would join a war against the U.S. Von Ribbentrop tried to stall time, for he knew that Germany had no obligation to declare war on the U.S. He feared it would add another enemy, and would overwhelm the German war effort, but Hitler did not sought to think otherwise.

    December 11, 1941, Germany declared war on the U.S. In exchange of this, F.D.R. asked congress to declare war on Germany. Congress had decided this was a fair question, and pursued action. This meaning that the US. was now in war with Germany. The president was authorized and directed to employ the entire naval and military forces of the government to carry on war against the Government of Germany, and bring the conflict to a successful termination.

    Six months after the attack on Pearl Harbor, the U.S. defeated Japan in one of the most decisive naval battles of WWII. The U.S. was able to preempt and counter Japan's planned ambush of its few remaining aircraft carriers, thanks to major advances in code breaking. It inflicted permanent damage on the Japanese Navy. It is an important turning point, because the victory would allow the U.S and its allies to move to a offensive position.

    This was successful Soviet defense of the city of Stalingrad, which is now known as Volgograd, in the U.S.S.R. during WWII. This battle was on of the bloodiest battles in history, a of unison military and civilian casualties 2 million.

Normandy landings have been called, "The beginning of the end of war in Europe".

    U.S. Bombed Japan

    An American B-29 bomber dropped the world's first deployed atomic bomb over Hiroshima, Japan. The explosion wiped out 90% of the city and immediately killed 80,000 people, which more would die later because of radiation exposure. Three days later another B-29 dropped a bomb on Nagasaki, Japan, killing around a estimated of 40,000. Japanese Emperor, Hirohito, announced his country's surrender on August 15, 1945.
