Tupac is born.
He was born in NYC to Afeni Shakur, who was pregnant with him while in jail on bombing charges. Tupac Amaru comes from the Incas meaning "shining serpent" and Shakur is Arabic meaning "thankful to God." -

First Rap
Tupac's family moves to Baltimore and he is enrolled in Baltimore School for the Arts. Here he writes his first rap under the name of "MC New York". He studied poetry, jazz, acting and ballet and won many awards for rapping. -
Career launched
Tupac became a backup dancer for the group Digital Underground. He continued to perform with the band for the soundtrack of the movie ‘Nothing but Trouble’ and also appeared in the film. -
Solo Album
He released his debut solo album ‘2Pacalypse Now’ by the end of 1991. It had comments on racism, poverty, violence, and teenage pregnancy. It stirred up controversy and made him very popular. -
Shooting #1 & Prison
Tupac was shot in an armed robery case. After recovering, he was sent to prison on a sexual assault charge. -
Thug Life
He formed the group Thug Life with musicians Big Syke, Mopreme Shakur, Rated R and others and they released their one and only album "Thug Life: Volume 1". -
"Me Against the World"
While in prison he focused on his music and read a lot. He wrote this album during his imprisonment. It is considered one of the most influential hip hop albums of all-time. -
Fourth Album is released
"All Eyez on me" is released and debuts at No. 1 on Billboard's album chart, goes on to sell about 5 million copies. -

Tupac is shot 6 times in a drive by shooting in Las Vegas. -
Tupac is pronounced dead.
After 6 days in critical condition, he is pronounced dead at 4:03 pm
