This book teaches us to appreciate the little things in life and the things that matter like family, marriage, and love. Money and fame aren't everything and those will end in death, but love will forever remain. The main characters are Mitch Albom and his old professor, Morrie. Mitch currently lives in Detroit, Michigan, but flies out to see Morrie at his house every Tuesday in Waltham, Massachusetts. -
Morrie is Diagnosed With ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease)

Morrie is diagnosed with an intreatable muscle disease that will slowly destroy all his muscles from the legs up. Ironically enough, he can still feel the stiffness and pain from the shriveled muscles. Once the disease reaches his diaphragm, he'll die of suffocation. The mood from here-on-out is sad with an underlying happiness. -
