This disaster was so immense that it was felt strongly in six different regions of Chile. The quake had a magnitude of 8.8. The disaster resulted in more than 500 deaths. -
Tohoku Earthquake
This disaster occurred in Tohoku (東北), located in Japan. The earthquake had a magnitude of 9.1. The disaster killed at least 29,000 people. Subsiquent to the quake and tsunami, many deaths were a result of poor education and a lack of decent disaster relief.
