Blue Ash, Kentucky: The Escape!
Samuel breaks a plate and his master's wife throws a fork at him. During the night while everyone is sleeping Harrison goes into the kitchen and tells Samuel to grab a skillet and a knife. Then they both leave and head farther and farther away from the farm. As they are going away Harrison tells Samuel to rub onions on his feet. Finally they reach a tree and perch themselves in it for the rest of the night. -

Blue Ash, Kentucky: The Tree
Harrison and Samuel wake up the next morning and find that Master Hackler is already looking for them. Trying to scare them out of hiding, Master Hackler fires off four shots scaring both Samuel and Harrison. Suddently It started to rain and the Hackler's Left. So they then sat in the tree till the rain stopped. When the rain stopped, they climbed back down the tree and carried onward toward the Ohio River. But as they are were
walking, Samuel Freaks Out and gets both Him and Harrison Lost. -
Blue Ash, Kentucky: Spiders and Candles..
So then Samuel and Harrison got back on track and went through a cornfield and started trying on all the clothing and things Harrison had stolen from his master. Then they finally came to an old tree filled with cobwebs and spiders and sat in the tree for the rest of the day. When they left the tree it was dark and they continued onward to the River Jordon (Ohio River). Finally they reached the river and Harrison started making owl noises and a man on a boat started to come to shore. -
On the Shore of the Ohio River
They then got onto the boat and started across the river but then they heard a womans voice and turned the boat around to get her. As they got away Gunshots started to shoot at them. Finally they got away from the patrolers and got to the other side of the river. When they got to the other side of the river the river man told Hetty Scott to get out of the boat, she refused and the river man pushed the boat back out into the river. Then They contiued forward leaving Harrison and Samuel Puzzled. -
Widow Taylor's House
Samuel and Harrison reach the Widow Taylors house and go and hide in her basement until she comes down and brings them more food. Harrison gives the widow taylor 4 silver coins then leaves until the next day when they leave for the church. -
Ohio: The Church
Widow taylor took Samuel and Harrison on a wagon to a church. They went around back through a side door where they were greeted by Reverend Pry the Church's Priest. Soon after Reverend Pry started to right things about Harrison and Samuel until he got up and left for the night so Mr. Keepheart started to right things about them and then stopped and showed them to where they would be sleeping -
Ham, Eggs, and Miz Kettle
Miz Kettle wakes Samuel up in the morning and Samuel asks where Harrison is, Miz kettle tells him he is in the other room getting changed then tells Samuel to go get changed into a dress. After they were both dressed Miz kettle tells them both to go down the path until they reach Ham and he gives Samuel and Harrison some fish to walk down the road with. As they are walking down the road they are confronted by and man on a wagon and takes all their fish. Soon they reach Green Murdocks Shed. -
Green Murdock
Samuel and Harrison reach Green Murdocks shed and wait for him to return to his house. Later Green Murdock returns and takes Samuel and Harrison into his house for the night and charges them for a small amount of food. Greeen Murdock then does a card future telling and Harrison gets the Ace of Spades(Bad Luck) and then goes to sleep for the night. -
Still at Negro Hollow
Harrison had gotten the lung fever and stays in Belle and August's house for the next couple of days where Samuel sees the train he will be riding on for the trip to Sandusky and learns while Harrison is halucinating that Harrison is Samuel's Grandfather. -
Fever
Harrison wakes up in the morning with a fever. So then Green Murdock tells him they have to leave and takes them to Negro Hollow While on the way there Harrison tells Samuel what the grey yarn was from his mother and they were traveling to Canada to meet her there.Then they reached the Negro Hollow and Samuel runs ahead to get help for Harrison where he meets Belle and August. Harrison then appears at the door and faints after hearing Belle's Name. -
On The Train
Harrison and Samuel leave Negro Hollow and get on a train's storage compartment and leave for Sandusky. While on the train they meet another slave named Ordee Lee. Ordee Lee told them about how he had lost all of his family and was also heading to Canada for freedom. They then remain on the train for the next two days heading north to Sandusky. -
In Sandusky!!
Samuel, Harrison and now Ordee Lee finally stop at Sandusky after being on the train for 2 days. As they are sitting in the train wondering how they are going to get off the train to the boats, they hear someone whistling and get very quite. The man whistiling asks how many of them are in there and Harrison says 3. The man then introduces himself as Ol' Bowlegs and he escorts them off the train to his shack where he tells them how they are going to get on the boat. They then sit there till day. -
Sandusky: At the Docks Continued
Samuel then gets an idea and asks Ordee Lee for the paper with he had shown them on the train and Samuel tells the Constable that that paper was their freedom papers and the Constable takes pity on them and tells everyone else that they were in deed their freedom papers. So then Harrison, Samuel, and Ordee Lee Continue on toward the "Otter" and put the barrels down and the boat sails toward Canada. -
Sandusky: At the Docks
Samuel, Harrison, and Ordee Lee leave the shack with the barrels and head toward the boat named The Otter. They then get stopped by two patrollers and they ask where their papers are. and Ordee Lee turns around to run and the second patroller stops him. One of the patrollers then gets the conatable while the other patroller ties them up. The Constable then asks the two patrollers if they had their free papers, and the two patrollers tell him they are runnaways and anyone with eyes can see that. -
In Canada
Finally Samuel, Harrison and Ordee reached Canada. Ordee Lee would then continue on to become a great Blacksmith who would often give Samuel gifts and keep on thanking him for saving him back in Sandusky. Harrison would get his Pond ever filled with fish for him to go fishing in, that pond is now called "Harrisons Pond". When Samuel got to Canada he met his mom Hannah there in Canada and as for Lilly, she lived out the rest of her days at Master Hacklers farm.
