    The ocean was clean and ocean acidification wasn't a huge problem.So with that the coral was looking good and the animals seemed great. Which means that the sea animals with shells were strong.

    This was in 1975. This was 5 years before 1980 when things started to take a turn for the worse. We didn't see it as something that would later become a big deal so we decided to push it aside.

    In 1980 the pH level had raised to an 8. In the pH scale 7 is a neutral number and the higher it gets the more alkaline it gets. Anything of too much is bad for the ocean.

    In 2010 the oceans pH level was at 8.33. Becoming more basic. We knew of this but still decided to brush it off. That's when 2016 came and it was the worse for the ocean.

    In 2016 the pH level was at 8.86. This is as high as it got. Even though this doesn't seem that bad it really made a difference to the coral. The coral started to die and look grey. There was also the sea animals with shells. Their shells became soft and it was hard for them to form good shells.

    In 2018 things started to get better and things started to return to the neutral zone. Making the oceans acidification become better. This resulted in the coral and sea animals returning to a better state.
