Turnpikes
With the invention ot the turnpikes help path the way to get there smoother which horse pulled wagons would pull supplies to help make the things we call roads today. With these roads now it was easier to travel and smoother then it was before.Without the idea of Turnpikes there would be no roads today which would make it harder to travel. These turnpikes also helped put railroad tracks for trains which would help get placse faster. -
The first steam powered train
These trains were first used in Germnay but were called Wagonways. These wagon ways were able to help goods or people travel faster then they would if they were to go on the road.In 1804 Richard Trevithick changed that, he made the first design of the first steam engine train which required no horses to pull it. The man who helped fund this cause was Samuel Humfray in 1803. -
The First Steamboat
The creator of the steam engine boat was made by robert Fulton which he called it the Clarmont. The steamboat was later tested where Robert Fulton would travel from New York to Albany down the Hudson River. Which was a huge step for transportation during the Industrial Revolution. With this Steamboat engine being made more supplies and more people are able to go in and out of places easier. -
One of the first car designs
Henry Ford thought of a car design that he was ready to build.He got the monay from Detroit citizens which they helped construct the Ford company. When this first car design came out it helped create a new era of transportation designed which helped change the world we live in today. -
Chevy's first car
Chevy is known for making there cars fast and being able to sell alot of them selling alot more then alot of other car companies. The person who created this company was named William C. Durant. William got a professional racer named Louis which beat several companies which they got to use other ideas from those companies to make the better car. -
The first sports car
The first sports car made was called the Vauxhall 30/98 made by Laurence Pomeroy. The way people considered these sports car back then and how they were made by them being light unlike now where everyone thinks sports cars are on how much power it has. Laurence decided to make the car light instead of adding all the extra weight of the bigger enigne which had about 90 horsepower but being light enough to go fast. The Vauxhall 30/98 was the first car ever to get over a hundred miles per hour. -
The Dodge Brothers
During the time the brothers known as the dodge borthers made cars too after the model T was made from the Ford company. The Dodge Brothers cars were meant for there classy look and good design. These cars were not only used by regular citizens they were you used in the army as well. Without the Dodge Brothers Ford wouldn't be as big of a company because Dodge decided to help them since Ford had won a race against there car. The first car the Dodge Brothers made was called the Dodge Four. -
Walter Chrysler
After acouple years from dodge making cars a man named Walter Chrysler made cars and bought there company. Dodge still had its own company and improved with Chryslers help. The Chrysler company was meant for complete luxery and had alot of things to show class and make the ride as smooth as it could be. Chrysler's first car was named Plymouth which was there kickstart to the company. -
Oldsmobile Rocket 88
This car was one of the first muscle cars ever invented and to actually be a muscle car with a v-8 engine inside of it which was a huge step in transportation history. This engine was also known as the "Kettering engine" made by Alfred P. Sloan. Without this car there would not be cars being as fast to get places and have all the big companies you have today. The car was named the rocket because it couldn't be named as a person. -
The Porsche
The amzing sports car during the time was the Porsche 356 speedster. This car had a amazing look and great speeds which could hit in the hundreds. This amazing creation was made by Max Hoffman which he made it lightweight and where the shape of the car could cut through the wind that it passes through to go faster. This car was made in Germany and was imported to the U.S alittle later after world war 2. Without this sports car the concept of sports cars now wouldn't have changed. -
Camaro at its peek
In 1969 the Chevy company made vast quantities of camaros of all engine sizes. There were three different model when it came to these newly shaped cars. There was the regular agressive looking camaro, the fast super sport camaro, and finally the track ready Z/28 camaro. These Camaros are what helped create a huge rivalry against dodge and ford and pontiac these companies made many muscle cars just to outwork eachother. -
The super cars
Hennesy Venom GT (fasted car in the world) Fast cars have come along way from barely going in the 100's and now in present day they can now go in the 200's. These cars that are V-10's up to V-12's are known as super cars. These cars weren't made to later on in history but now are one of the things many people want to have. These super cars have up to 100's of horsepower some that are not street legal are in the 1,000's. -
Present day muscle cars
In present days time alot has changed from the past without the invention of the V-8 engine the new muscle cars would not have as much power as they do now. The muscle cars were only meant to look agressive now they look agressive and how enough power and speed to race against sports cars. All the improvements over the years added the muscle cars to being very safe unlike at the beginning where they were some of the most unsafe cars. -
Present day trucks
Trucks were orignally mainly used for farms and or the military but now you can see them used in every day life. Trucks have gotten more power just like every other vehicle but these have gotten enough to handle several tons of weight where in the past they could only hold so much. The trucks have seemed to keep almost the same design since they were invented but have the cool new designes that citizens love. The trucks were usually only used for work only but now people get them just to drive. -
Present day sports cars
Sports cars have come along way from the past on designs and speeds. Sports cars dont only come in V-8's anymore they now come into higher catagories liike V-10's and being much lighter too making them faster and more powerful. Sports cars in present time can hit in the 100's very easily now under shorter tim then in the past. Even with all this extra speed and being light there safer then they were when origanally created. The downside to sports cars is now they can be way more expensive.
