    The first use of transportation was by foot. Around this specific time in the ancients, humans had to go everywhere by foot because nothing that could transport a human was yet invented.

    Horses

    Horses
    Around this time, a group called the Hyksos began to use horses in battle, therefore, they began to use them as transportation also.
  • 3000 BCE

    Sail Boat

    Sail Boat
    Sail boats were used during this time because of just wanting an even better way of traveling. Although this had its ups, the boat also had a few downs.

    Wooden Ships

    Wooden Ships
    Wooden ships were then invented around the early 2000 BC for the main use of trading between groups of people

    Covered wagons were used for transportation around the Middle Ages. The only people who really rode in these wagons were wealthy people.

    The very first rocket was originated in China. The rocket back then is similar in looks but different in size compared to today. Also, back then, rockets were used as weapons but now they are used as transportation for space.

    The first bus was invented in the 17th century. The first bus was invented by Blaise Pascal. The bus back then is much different from buses today.

  • Trains/Railways

    Commonly known as train transportation, railways were invented in the early 19th century. Trains are on tracks and follow the tracks exactly.

    The first bicycle was invented by Baron Karl von Drais in the 19th century. This was made out of wood. Unlike today, the first one had no pedals what so ever.

    Most sources say that the first ambulance was actually made sometime in the 1830's. It was known to be invented by a man named Dominique Jean Larrey

    The first motorcycle was built in the 19th century in 1885. The motorcycle was built by Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach. Unlike today, the motorcycle looks very undeveloped back in this time period.

    The first car was invented in the late 19th century. The first car was known to be invented by Karl Benz. The first type of car that was made was the Benz Patent Motor Car

    The first taxi cab was invented in the late 19th century in 1897. This was built by Gottlieb Daimler. The purpose of this was to transport people quick without them having to do any work basically.

    The Wright Brothers are commonly known as the people who invented the first airplane ever. The Wright Brothers, Wilbur and Orville, also tested out their invention which was successful.

    The first helicopter was invented in the 20th century in the year of 1939. The helicopter was designed and built by two different people. It was designed by Igor Sikorsky and built by Vought Sikorsky

  • Current Transportaton

    The current transportation is similar to the transportation a few centuries back. Today, people still use inventions such as cars, trucks, boat, trains, planes, etc. Even though they still use these means of transportation, it has improved into a more modern way.
